where did i say i want to cover every woman from head to toe. I have said this before. Islam is about choice. Their is no such thing as force in Islam. What a woman wants to wear is her choice. Even if a woman wants to wear a bkini to her office its her choice.

What im saying is - to brainwash women into a bikini and then "rant" about the progress of their women is incorrect.

Mr. Yusha, please understand that you have no authority to declare what a man or woman should wear. If a woman wants to cover herself from head to toe in a black robe in the blazing heat, she has every right to do so. In Pakistan, the state can only take action if she is dressed indecently (like wearing a swimsuit in a shopping mall). Just because there are some men who go crazy when they see an unveiled women doesn't mean that you should force every woman to dress in such a way that it can make her sick.

@ Mr lakhani

no woman should be punished if she does not wear a veil. This is against islam. What a woman wants to wear is her choice.

@ Raj

as you said, life is about choice. How much choice do you think a woman is given when she is constantly bombarded by television and magazines to take her clothes off. Again, its her choice BUT is she given a choice? Its exploitation by the beauty, fashion and diet industries who just want to fill their pockets.

@ philip

i am no one to decide what woman should wear. I just want them to be given a choice in what to wear NOT in what not to wear. By the way, i can control myself. i do not look at women's naked bodies as you made it up or probably dreamt.

Mr. Yusha, can you quote anything from the Holy Koran or the Ahadith about women being physically punished if they do not wear the veil?

I agree that a woman should be decently dressed, but that does not mean she should be covered up completely, just because some men go berserk when they see an unveiled woman. And Qazi Hussain Ahmed himself told me (and I have researched this subject thoroughly) that Islam does not prescribe any punishment for a woman who does not observe "purdah". All that is required is that she should be dressed modestly. Of course, women should wear swimsuits at the beach, but not at work in the office, or when shopping in the malls!

You mean to say that an exposed body is worse than one that is covered in a black burkha when the temperature outside is 40 degrees celcius?

What kind of argument is that when you want the woman to cover up fully just because you cant control your emotions on seeing a half naked body? Does it not say something about your own faith and your ability to control your desires?

Btw, who are you to decide what a woman should/should not wear?
