Woman on Mars or Danish Mermaid?

According to John Gray, Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus. However, recent imagery from Spirit (NASA robot) suggests (to some) that Mars may have its share of fair sex. The image shows a distinctively feminine humanoid figure in Martian landscape. This could be a rock, with all those curves traced out by strong martian winds. Or, it can be some Martian lady taking sun bath amidst the dunes.

Benjamin Radford disagrees:

The reason many people see a figure on the Martian landscape is the same reason that people see faces in clouds, Rorschach blots, and coffee stains. This phenomenon, called pareidolia, is well known in psychology, and it is the cause of many supposedly mysterious and miraculous events (including the famous “Jesus in the Tortilla”). Examples are all around us; in fact if you have a New Hampshire state quarter, you have pareidolia in your pocket or purse (take a look).
Strong evidence for this psychological explanation lies in the fact that the Spirit image does not look like Martian life (since we don’t know what life on Mars looks like), but instead resembles life here on Earth, specifically human life. The image is the result of human interpretation. If you look around the full image of the area (not just the close-up), you will find several rocks and features that resemble non-human Earth life, such as armadillos and snakes. In the right bottom corner, emerging from the sand, there is what looks like a lizard face wearing goggles and an airman’s helmet.

Copenhagen Mermaid
This has also been taken up on the blogosphere as well as discussed on forums and lists. Madurobob commented that the humanoid-image is obviously built by an ancient civilization that later departed mars and settled Denmark. This comment is repeatedly used by traditional media to prove their point. BBC went on this as far as asking whether Copenhagen Mermaid really is evidence of Martian settlers?

It may be a rock or plain hallucination. However, as fan of Robert Heinlien’s Stranger in a Strange Land, I keep my fingers crossed.

When the Americans first published pictures of the moon where their astronauts landed, some people in Karachi said there were places like that in Malir (a suburb of Karachi). Many people thought that the Americans fabricated those pictures and that they never landed on the moon.

Well, it could be real, as per my religious belief that there are life exist in every planet, other then universe (where human exist). So martians , aliens etc are true, they are just hiden or trying to keep hidden from human eyes, as per islam says. Anyway i am too suprised and proud that our religion isnt fake, we have been seeing miracles like this which had been predicted in Islam way back in 1500 years ago.

    Regards all

Anam, have you spoken to any maulana about life on other planets? All our religious leaders believe that there are only two worlds, this one and the one we go to after we’re dead. They’ve never heard of other planets, they think man has never landed on the moon and they don’t believe me when I tell them that there are billions of stars and planets in the universe. When I was in college forty five years ago, the mullahs used to say that it’s the earth that goes around the sun.

Anam, please ignore the last sentence in my previous comment. The mullahs used to say ( and some still say) that the sun goes around the earth, and not vice versa.

Well no, i know theres no way out to talk to mullas, they are all illitrate sorry to say that, its my belief my sense developed by goiong through qurran and definately life exist in all planets. When Allah says, I am the Creator of all universe (human world) and planets and the life which exist there, also He says He is the Creator of all sky’s and all earth’s and the Creator living on the sky’s(angles, evil, paranormal etc) and earth
