When Parliament Declared Qadyanis Kafir
Muslim movement of Tehrik Tahafuz-e-Khatam-e-Nabuwat which was started after Qadyanis attacked and tortured Muslim students on the railway station of Chenab Nagar (Rabwa) on 29th May 1974 compelled the then government of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto to call the Qadyanis non-Muslims.
In the regard of demands by the sacred and historic Tehrik Tahafuz-e-Khatam-e-Nabuwat, special committee of National Assemble of Pakistan did record 28 meetings and 96 sittings to discuss the matter in just two months. It was the longest meeting of National Assembly which was remained in session continuously.
Muslims presented the members of Parliament a book ‘Viewpoint of Muslim Nation’ which was compiled by the leading Islamic scholars of that time, and from the Qadyani’s side also got a fair chance to describe their point of view. Qadyanis were, afterwards, unable to spread propaganda that they didn’t have a fair chance to defend themselves, as NA listened to both factions of Qadyanis. From the Rabwa faction, Mirza Nasir took 42 hours in 11 days, and from the Lahori faction, Mirza Saddaruddin took 7 hours in two days.
Then attorney general Yahya Bakhtiyar concluded the discussion in two days, as Bhutto was to announce the decision on 7th September. Nation was focussed on this day with rapt attention, and everybody was eager to hear the historic decision. Then came the great day of 7th September, 1974 when the assembly of Islamic Republic of Pakistan announced at 4:35 pm, that both the branches of Qadyanis are Non-Muslims on the basis of their non-Muslim beliefs.
Not a single member of parliament showed his dissent from this historic decision. History tells us that right after the meeting of NA, Maulana Mufti Mehmood reached to the office of Tehrik Tahafuz-e-Khatam-e-Nabuwat where the leader of Tehrik Maulana Syed Mohammad Yousuf Banuri was praying with wet eyes. On 13th September, Friday, nation celebrated the decision with all the zeal and zest.

I think it would be appropriate that there is a follow up article to this; entitled ‘When world declared “Muslims” the terrorists’. There is a lesson in here…what goes around come around….if anyone cares to learn.
