A few years back, a cleric in the NWFP asked his followers to kidnap all unveiled women and bring them to him and he would perform their marriages with the kidnappers! (even if she was already married to someone else). Then there are the so-called scholars who insist on rituals (e.g. they ask you to say certain words before doing something, like entering the bathroom, etc.).
