We the Err
Honest politics plays a small part in the real short story of Pakistani nation, and in that of Pakistan from all of the cluster of so-called developing nations its part is smaller than in any.
Why don’t we seem to grasp this notion or is it that we really do not want to understand it. The thing is that our perspective and priorities are too narrow and encased in the vested interests. We are primarily blinded by our own personal interests and sentiments and we only seem to qualify for our petty interests for the short run. We are not really perhaps made for thinking with detachment.
We have made more slips than steps and we haven’t learnt from our own mistakes. We haven’t adopted any corrective measures because we are waiting for some uncanny forces which would come down and would swing a magic wand and everything will be alright to become wrong again.
Due to the apathetic and numb attitude towards life, the scope and possibilities of corrective measures is very narrow and hopeless for us. In the nation of 160 millions we don’t seem to grow and groom any new and dynamic leaders, and we are forced to rely on personalities rather than on system. The system may be worthless, for the procedures are apt to stale if the operators are inadequate and their lame execution a waste in this scenario.
To err is human and to err again and again is perhaps Asian and to err the same mistakes again and again and then again is Pakistani.

I’m a bit confused about the title. “Err” is not a noun, it’s a verb, meaning to make a mistake, like in the proverb “To err is human, to forgive divine”. As for Pakistanis, they never learn from their mistakes.
