We are the Problem
In view of courage, struggle, commitment and sacrifice for the cause of democracy and efforts towards solidarity and integrity of Pakistan, the past record of Pakistani nation isnt too bright. We have always rallied behind the faces blindly, and we have always been used and exploited by the agencies, of which the biggest spectacle was of Islami Jamhuri Ittehad (IJI) with 9 stars, a paper monster created by the then ISI chief Gen (retd) Hamid Gul, who is now a days a champ of democracy and one of the biggest opponent of Gen (retd) Musharraf.
We are the ones, who have been distributing sweets upon the termination of a democratic government by the serving Army chief, and we are the one who then raise slogans against them after a while. There was a time, when Nawaz Sharif was our star, then he became a villain, and now once again he is rising to the skies. Same was the case with assassinated Benazir Bhutto, and same is being witnessed with Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf.
We are very strange lot, and if we carry on with our this dual and meaningless approach, it’s not possible that we ever get a chance to enjoy justice and democracy in this land of pure. The elections are once again coming, and we are trumpeting with the tunes of same faces, especially in the rural areas where we tend to vote for our Biradari no matter what, and we decide the preference of a candidate based on the meals he offered during the campaign.
The thing is that we spare no moment to criticize our rulers, and the the real thing is that problem lies with us, the people of this country.

You need to brush up on your history. The “nine stars” was not the symbol of IJI, but of the PNA in the 1977 elections, which were heavily rigged by the ruling PPP. The rigging led to massive rioting, the overthrow of Z. A. Bhutto, and his execution by Gen. Zia.
