Tribal Skirmish Heating Up

As India test flights the Pakistani airforce by violating the Pakistani airspace, the things are heating up at the Western front of Pakistan and militants and the NATO forces are equally pounding the areas. The most noisy area right now is Wana and its whereabouts. Militants shot dead a man in South Waziristan, suspect of spying for the United States. militants fired rockets at FC fort in Jandola area. Security forces retaliate the fire. However, no loss of life was reported. Also, in Jandola, officials recovered three missiles and defused them.

While that happens the internal skirmishes between the tribes are also on the rise regardless of the external threats. Armed men killed one, injured another person and kidnapped three others near Hangu two days back. They were belonged to Kurram Agency. After the incident, Tori and Bangesh tribes abducted dozens of people belonged to each other’s clan among which 75 were released today. Efforts are underway for the release of remaining people, but the tension runs high.

It is also said that the recent string of terrorist activities in the Peshawar near the Imam Barghas is the indirect result of the strife going on in the Kurram agency between the two sects. External elements are also present on both sides to make the matters worse.

United States has once again clearly asked Pakistani forces to clear the area to have a clear field for carpet bombing. Tribes should come back to their senses.
