Tips for an effective teacher

Okay, the list contains some tips of mine and my seniors.

  1. Be faithful in attendance, rain or shine.
  2. Arrive at least 15 minutes before the class session opens to talk to your students.
  3. Make sure you have a clear overall view of the entire session’s lessons.
  4. Use a vocabulary your students understand.
  5. Ask questions and encourage your students to participate.
  6. Start preparation of next week’s lesson early in the week.
  7. If something funny happens in class, do join in the laughter and then use the incident to get back into the lesson.
  8. Make a birthday chart of your students and fix it on class softboard.
  9. A good teacher constantly seeks teaching improvement, such as good books, conferences, and other teacher training.
  10. Attend class events and activities.
  11. Vary your teaching methods so your students might not get bored. For instance, if you lecture them yesterday, start with a class discussion.
  12. Evaluate your work and analyze student reaction each week, noting mistakes and successful results.
