Tips for an effective teacher
Okay, the list contains some tips of mine and my seniors.
- Be faithful in attendance, rain or shine.
- Arrive at least 15 minutes before the class session opens to talk to your students.
- Make sure you have a clear overall view of the entire session’s lessons.
- Use a vocabulary your students understand.
- Ask questions and encourage your students to participate.
- Start preparation of next week’s lesson early in the week.
- If something funny happens in class, do join in the laughter and then use the incident to get back into the lesson.
- Make a birthday chart of your students and fix it on class softboard.
- A good teacher constantly seeks teaching improvement, such as good books, conferences, and other teacher training.
- Attend class events and activities.
- Vary your teaching methods so your students might not get bored. For instance, if you lecture them yesterday, start with a class discussion.
- Evaluate your work and analyze student reaction each week, noting mistakes and successful results.
