The Perks of Being Rich : Time for You to Act
Over the weekend, I followed the development of one very depressing incident with a grim heart. The incident in question, was brought to my attention by Zakintosh at The Windmills of My Mind. According to the news reports, the owner of the Nirala chain caused the death of 2-month baby in Defence, Lahore and then proceeded to threaten the injured parents into silence. Media reports suggest that an FIR against the culprit has still not been registered owing to an apparent collusion between the police authorities and the culprit. Such, of course, are the perks of the rich in our country.
I don’t know what is the status of this story at this point in time, but knowing how the system here works it would not be wrong to assume that Nirala company owner will get away with making a complete travesty of justice. In this regard, I urge you all to do your little bit to highlight this incident through the press and the media. One, I endorse Zak’s boycott of Nirala sweets. If we can support an innocuous boycott of European products to protest against the Danish cartoons, it ought not to be too hard for us to say NO to Nirala Sweets. Second, I urge you all to write letters/emails to your favourite papers and try to get this issue highlighted. Our efforts will not be able to bring back a dead baby, but we can at least make an attempt to stop the incessant mockery of justice.
Every single voice matters. Please join the chorus!
P.S. On a related note, Ejaz Haider of The Daily Times laments the lack of deceny in our society. Thought provoking material there! Give it a read.

Who are we to decide who is guilty by just hearing at Waseem’s side of the story.
Our unprofessional media and journalism has stressed so much on Waseem’s story that general public has already sentenced Faisal Farooq guilty.
Have a look at the following site
http://www.aslibaat.com/
It brings forward a completely different story.
The flash animation clearly indicates the careless driving of Mr. Waseem.
Still I dont know who is lying and who is telling the truth.
GOD knows better, but we should not make our judgement after hearing just one side of the story.
Visit the link

and read it your self.
The site covers the entire story.

hey RR,
I’ll have a read at the link u provided in a minute…
but uptill now here r my two cents….regardless of how Mr.Waseem was driving, if there was at all a race carried out between the porche and the merc u cannot point the figure at mr.waseem…
now before u start bashing me up, have u even thought for a second wht the parents of the child would be going through?? and to start beating up their family members and threaten them…any sane person with common sense can tell who acctually is guilty??
u know very well how the system of justice works in pakistan….if u cant do anything about it atleast acknowledge it instead of going against the facts and figures and most of all moral and social ethics…..if there was a least bit of decency the driver of porche would appologize and instead of making a fool out of him self by threating and forcing the the withdrawl of FIR would acctually do something that would make a difference….

This is now a continous practice in our society that rich and influential people doesn’t care of anything which come into their path. Whether it is any rule of law or a car having a family, they don’t bother.
What care they most are their interest which they never compormises.
What encourage them most to have such mentality is our government’s policy to cover influential people to gain strength in governence.
I strongly condemn the act of this ugly rich boy and hope that justice will be done with victims.

i would like to add here as i have just seen the site RR mentioned above, it looks to me a big time fake, i wish ALLAH will bring izab on these kind a stupid rich basturds, who got no respect for someone else’s pain or misery after all this, they got money and thats all they ever wanted y they give a damn , world is still the same, in history we use to have 1 Feron of time, now a days we have many Ferons in Pakistan. If u have money u can do every thing, like they are GOD nauzbillah, they dont even know the shit wot they are doing. They are so damn obssessed with wot they have and forgot Who gave this and why He gave it to them. I guess to make good use of it and help others, and not to kill their kids and then threatend them for their lives as well. Poor basturds they are only making their graves turn red like hell to help them have the best of burrning experience in their graves

I would like to add that, leaving everything aside, one thing is for sure that faisal surely did violate the speed limit, as one can evidently see that he must have been going very very fast to hit a car, which spun and then hit a tree, and with that impact the baby falling out of the car from the mothers lap. So i think faisal is to blame all the way. I think these rich fuckheads should make their own race tracks where they can fulfill their Cheap thrills for dirty minds.. instead of doing them on public places killing innocent people..
