The News Website Hacked

As reported here and here, The News web site is hacked. Currently it shows Site Under Maintenance text.

Here is what comes up in Google Search:

thenews website hack - small

Its amazing people have so much time to kill (especially on Eid day) to go and hack The News web site.

Previously GEO web site was also hacked in a very non-professional manner. Seems either Jang Group have got some script kiddies on their trail or its been done inhouse to gain some publicity.

Well it seems that hackers are slowly getting the better of these news sites in Pakistan it was Geo - then Daily times and now The News. I feel people should realize that hackers are a serious threat and they are going to get worse with time. The only protection is have a backup and ensure that you are running the most updated version of the CMS
