Telenor EasyPaisa: All Hype and No Work?
According to Press Briefing published in various newspaper of Lahore City dated 29th October 2009, LESCO clearly stated that they have no such agreement with Telenor and Tameer Bank regarding the collection of utility bills. Well!! Besides LESCO, Telenor has already exempted the renowned IESCO and GEPCO from their corporate ranking contract list. Now the Question arises, what’s remaining there for lunch????? After such a successful advertising campaign, our Pakistani nation is offered only with these BIG FIVE’s,
- PTCL (Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited)
- SSGC (Sui Southern Gas Company)
- SNGPL (Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited)
- KESC (Karachi Electric Supply Company)
- HESCO (Hyderabad Electric Supply Company)
The consequence of all what happened basically reveals the incompetence of the management planning. I must say that the most un-professionalism has been experienced by Telenor management as they should plan it before launching such a huge marketing campaign.
Payment of Utility Bills is a financial transaction that is also performed by each and every tramp. So, at the end of common man, some perplexing is also there regarding authenticity of Easy Paisa, as NADRA owned e-Sahulat is already gifted the nation with these utility bills payment offer without any additional charges. Then in such a scenario, it seems to be a stupidity of common man to go to shop where you have to pay additional charges rather than an outlet that’s owned by an organization of Interior Ministry.
Lastly, If we compare both the competitors in market, then a major issue arises the Fraudulent. Well, What will be the possible solution if any deception occurs at the level of Telenor easypaisa centers???

I think our focus should be how to prevent all these people being killed nowadays rather than criticizing on a multinational company whose presence is proving to be very useful for our country and is creating many job opportunities for skilled people. We should begin to concentrate on areas that need more attention I think.
