Release Dr. Aafia Siddiqui

Stop It

Nation is watching in despair and anger as what has been done with the deposed judges of Pakistan. Police tortured, baton-charged, tear-gassed and beaten the students, lawyers, ladies, civil society activist severely on 18th December, when they were trying to go to the house of Deposed Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry. Police also thrashed the members of media who were there to cover the happenings.

Police also blindly and heavily fired rubber bullets and fired tear gas on the rally arranged by the Imran Khan’s Tehrik-e-Insaf and it was very saddening to watch peaceful demonstrators running for their safety in vain. Police also arrested 65 people at the rally. The rally was from Aabpara chowk to Judges Colony in Islamabad peacefully protesting against the deposition of judges due to Provincial Constitution Order (PCO) and they were demanding the freedom of justice and media.

The order to beat the protester in Islamabad was given upon the orders of Additional S.P. Nasir Aftab. Police cordoned off the whole area, and then started worst baton charge upon the protesters. Then a student took aim at Nasir Aftab and hit him with a stone. S.P fell to ground and police stormed the student and beat him unconscious.

Why don’t they understand that we love Justice and our Justices’?
