Startup Insider Sesssions: Meeting Place for Pakistani Entrepreneurs
A missing element from Pakistan’s business landscape is the coaching and mentoring of startups and entrepreneurs. While some business schools like IBA and LUMS have their in-house incubators, and multinationals like Shell have had programs like Shell Tameer, there is always a need of a platform where would-be entrepreneurs, mentors and investors can meet to exchange tips, discuss ideas, share lessons learnt and show proof-of-concept to the investors.
Fortunately, there seems to be some light in the tunnel, thanks to PASHA, Pakistan Software House Association, and GreenWhite, a tech-blog which made its mark very shortly in Pakistani IT scene.
The duo, in collaboration with PixSense, arranged a coffee-session in Karachi for would-be IT entrepreneurs, CEOs of startups and prospect investors. According to Osama Hashmi, out of 75 attendees, 65 were aspiring entrepreneurs.
They have planned sessions in Lahore and Islamabad in days to come. More details of the event are here and here.

The thing is, how their efforts could be fruitful in such volatile condition?

They can atleast keep the young minds optimistic. However, they should caution that entrepreneurship is not for everyone. For many, its better to spend a 9-to-5 life than diving in these turbulent waters.
