Shoaib Gets Life

The Pakistani controversial fast bowler, Shoaib Akhtar has got a new life in his dwindling cricketing career, as a Pakistani court today suspended an 18-month ban imposed on paceman Shoaib Akhtar by the country’s cricket authorities for indiscipline. A judge at Lahore High Court ruled that the 32-year-old Akthar should be allowed to play cricket until his appeal against the ban is heard.

That makes Shoaib Akhtar available for the upcoming Champions Trophy which is scheduled to be held in Pakistan latter this year. That, and Shoaib Akhtar could also play other not-so-official Twenty20 matches and the local cricket.

Now that would make the things embarrassing for the Pakistani Cricket Board. After doing much ado about the disciplinary issues within the team, they have now both Mohammad Asif and Shoaib Akhtar back in the team, who both committed blunders which defamed the country.

Now that would be another test for the team management. They would have to give yet another chance to these bowlers, especially they don’t have any other option. The coach Geoff Lawson is also about to to be expelled, and these bowlers would have a new coach and a likely new captain, and there is every chance that thing would get better.

I personally think Shoaib Akhter should take up a career in movies or politics. He has done immense harm to cricket in Pakistan and the sooner he retires from cricket, the better it will be for the country.
