Shazia Marri for forgetting May 12
Sindh Information Minister Shazia Marri, while speaking at a seminar organised by the Women’s Action Forum (WAF) at Karachi Press Club to mark anniversary of May 12, 2007, said,
“For God’s sake give your sentiments a direction for a goal and that goal should be peace,” she said. “We also want to give the direction of peace to those forces which are hyper and aggressive. We want to build a new society where people’s problems are resolved and peace prevails. We are now talking in open atmosphere, which is a sign of hope.”
Ms. Marri may forget May 12, 2007 as she was fortunate not to loose a dear one, neither her property and vehicle burnt or looted. But what about those who were killed in cold blood on streets of Karachi? What about all those vehicles burnt? many with their passengers in them. Who gave Shazi Marri the right to forget the black day of May 12 and forgive the sinners?

YOU ARE RIGHT. MS SHAZIA MARRI DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO FORGET/FORGIVE FOR BLOODSHED AND ALL OTHER ATROCITIES OF MAY 12. WE SHOULD NOT FORGIVE THE “CRIMINALS” FOR THEIR ACTIONS ON 27 DEC. AND ALL OTHER SUCH CRUELITIES. WE SHOULD NOT BE FEARFUL OF THOSE WITH “HEAVY MANDATE” WHO SPEAK LOUDLY FOR OTHER EVENTS BUT DO NOTHING FOR THEIR POOR VOTERS. PEOPLE SITTING IN LONDON SHOULD NOT CRY FOR OUR RIGHTS. IT IS OUR OWN DUTY TO THROW THEM OUT OF KARACHI AND PAKISTAN.
