Scourge of Poverty

When we hear news like parents burying their toddlers out of sheer poverty, not only the heart shudders, but also one wonders about the claims of our rulers about the optimum economic indicators.

It has been said again and again about Pakistan’s economy that the last five or so years have been the best ever, and the Pakistani economy has grown on an average at a stunning rate of sever per cent per year. But Pakistanis wonder where that growth has gone, and what in the hell it means to them. They are more poor than ever, and they don’t have the basic necessities of lives, and they are forced to kill their children.

Its’ also a feeler for the political leaders to also keep in their minds that people of Pakistan do rally for the cause of judiciary and democracy, but if they don’t have food or medical care, then they are not going to think much about anything else.

Measures on war footings are needed to fight with this scourge of poverty.

The Pakistanis who benefited from the “stunning” 7% growth are those who manipulated the stock exchange, those who hoarded “atta” and sold it in the black market, and those who are running the many “bara” markets in the country, where you can get smuggled items on which duty and sales tax has not been paid. And you can’t touch these people because they pay “bhatta” to those who’re supposed to enforce the law.

parents killing their children cannot be blamed on rulers. It is human nature to blame. No one is forcing thse people to have 10 kids if they dont have enough money to support a family. If they have to get married then they should use a condom. (i would like to do to these parents what you would like to do to narendra modi)
