Yeah right, as if things were really different when the bills were paid. When the minister of power habitually lies, when the power tarrif is expected to reach Rs.19 by the year end of 2010, one must be an idiot to keep on beating the dead horse.

@ Abdulla Khan: I have studied this problem in great detail and can say with confidence that the people who demonstrated and burn KESC vehicles are the ones who steal electricity. It's because of this massive pilferage (officially 35% but actually more than 50%) that the system is not working. Of course, KESC should also be paid what the government owes it, but first of all the electricity thieves should be punished (whether they live in the posh areas or in the slums).

Salam to every body.
I have proved with facts and figures that current electricity crisis are engineered by PEPCO and ministry of Water and Power. For details please read and spread my eye opening article http://www.millat.com/news.php?id=7616
If you agree with my findings then send them to your member National Assembly, Chairman Public Accounts Committee and where ever you can. This will justify the campaign of not paying bills. Someone can lodge a petition in supreme court

Thanks for the reply. Your sarcasm has been noted. If and when I go into Pakistani politics (yeaaaars down the road) then by all means -- i will enlist you. All males between the ages of 18 and 35 will be obligated to have completed 6-15 months (depending on education level) of Pakistan military service. Plenty of people for you to get acquainted with my brother. Anybody disobeying these direct orders would be taken to court and tried for failure to obey the laws of Pakistan.

Because my philosophy is simple. If you are Pakistani (inside and outside of Pakistan) ---your first and last priority is Pakistan. Nation first policy.

Those who dont pay taxes will go to prison. Those who dont have the means to pay for taxes will have to ''pay back'' in some other indirect fashion (collecting trash and litter on the street, planting trees etc.). Failure to fulfill duties towards the govt. (and inevitably towards the public) will be dealt with severely.

The government would work closely with NGOs, non-profits, institutions and private/public enterprises to promote growth of infrastructure, knowledge, and other types of capital.

Anybody ---military, police, institutional, beaurocrat/technocrat etc. found to be corrupt or dishonest would be tried in district court and dealt with severely.

Regarding religion --all religious schools would be monitored by the government to ensure the true teaching of Islam --not militant Islam or Christianity or whatever. Imams/Priests would be contracted by the government. And like all other educational material, they would be monitored by govt. to ensure that they meet up-to-date international standards.

Priority also given to industry, manufacturing and agriculture as they are part of the backbone of our economy.

that is all in just a few paragraphs
