Ruling Coalition May Splinter

There is no doubt about the fact that the clumsy and bare-threaded coalition of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, Pakistan People’s Party, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam and Motahidda Qaumi Movement could split up at any time, and at this juncture, the holding of a mutual conference to discuss issues seem elusive and meaningless.

This joint session of the ruling coalition has just come, when the other partners were accusing PPP of ignoring them, and of threatening to quit the coalition, and when the PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif is ill at ease with the delaying tactics of the PPP chairman Asif Ali Zardari, and has given deadline of 15th August to restore judges and have a clear road map to impeach Pervez Musharraf, the president of Pakistan.

Unified approach is necessary to resolve all the contentious issues within and outside the country, and a joint strategy is very critical to combat the war on terror and to allay the fears of attack on our Western borders, but PPP must stop its shenanigans with the coalition partners.
