Pygmy Shenanigans

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has turned down Federal government’s review petition pertaining to ineligibility case of Sharif brothers. According to the Registrar Office, the petition is incomplete because, it said, security bonds have been attached with it. Now the questions arising as the government is sincere in staging cases of the opposition leaders or it is just gaining the time.

The ball certainly is in the courts of Pakistan People’s Party and above all in the hands of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. PM Gilani must do comprehensive re-evaluation of his own position, making compromises to bring harmony between rhetoric, perception and reality. He must retaliate positively and must not become mouthpiece of Asif Ali Zardari.

PPP has to do lots of damage management. The new party leadership has dragged the caliber down to such a level that it is now synonymous with deceit and a total abandonment of principles. Either leadership has to be changed or the leadership should change the policies.

For the present, the prospects for Pakistan seem brighter than ever. The new confidence can be seen in many places and upon many faces. But now things are seems to be at standstill. If PPP acts sincerely then this aura of confidence will remain so and flourish, otherwise it will be chaos again.
