Yesterday I did some loud thinking about Imran Khan’s claim of starting a civil disobedience campaign, and PTI’s peace march to Waziristan. I was wondering if PTI should do the same for Karachi, to protest against the recent wave of killings and chaos.
And, I got all sorts of reactions.
And the typical “what others are doing?” attitude:
My point of view is that as PTI considers itself an agent of change, and an opponent of status quo, it should come forward and lead by example, rather than issuing statements or criticizing the government, and opposition, for their lack of performance.
In this press release from PTI where Chairman Imran Khan has condemned the situation in Karachi, criticized the government and its stakeholders, and asked the public to remain calm. Would that help Karachi? Obviously not.
