Prudence is Required
The US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen’s statement is drawing very staunch and angry reactions from the Pakistani authorities, and the otherwise meek foreign office of Pakistan has also aired it’s disapproval, rather strong disapproval of the statement of the American top solider in which he said that that the United States had the right to take military action in Pakistan if it got reliable and concrete intelligence about the presence of top leadership of Taliban and al-Qaeda, including Osama bin Laden.
One thing Mr. Mike Mullen must clear to himself that nobody has the right to attack Pakistan, and the FATA area belongs to Pakistan, and only Pakistani forces has the right to launch any operation in their areas, and they are already doing it, and through the operation strategy has proved fruitless and has backfired, the Mullen and the likes should get it in their thicko heads that force is not the solution to every problem.
According to the media reports, the prime minister will be visiting the United States at the invitation of President Bush. During the visit, the prime minister will also have interaction with members of the US Congress, business sector, media and the Pakistani American community. This will be the first visit of Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani to the United States after formation of the new democratic government.
In this tour the premier should make such things clear to the US top high command once and for all.
