Release Dr. Aafia Siddiqui

PPP shows Strain From Within

The tussle between Asif Ali Zardari and Makhdoom Amin Fahim is getting more and more bitter day by day, and now Asif is asking for and more leaning from the party, as Makhdoom is vying for his own candidacy for the top slot of Prime Minister.

Asif Ali Zardari, according to the internal sources of party, is meeting furiously with the entourages of party from Punjab, Sindh and NWFP, though Sindhi leaders of party are still with Makhdoom Amin Fahim. The proponents of Zardari are more than the Amin Fahim, just because Asif gets more sympathy due to the fresh assassination of late Benazir Bhutto, while Amin Fahim has always put himself as an alternative to Benazir.

Another silent candidate within the party, who is presenting himself as the third alternative is Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi of South Punjab, though he has got support from Rawalpindi and Lahore, his chances are slim due to the Punjab factor.

Things are getting fishy in the PPP cadres, but PPP intends to keep these contentions buried until after the elections.
