Paradoxical Politics of Hypocrisy
Pakistani Politics is littered with the paradoxes or shall we call them inherent hypocrisy. The seismic shifts of our politicians are often underreported by the media, and the nation has been made-belief by the media that it’s all part of the politics and anything could happen at anytime in the politics.
These shifts often set the tone of our politics and set the national agenda. These shifts and shape-ups not only modify the dynamics of the politics, but also divert the attention of bewildered nation from one bombardment of crisis to another.
More often than note, our freed media, and almost all the politicians continue to press on looking at every issue through a conflicting lens of contradictory approach and misleading statements then assume the answer is found by splitting the difference.
Think About It: PML-Q, who was in the bed with Musharraf when the judiciary was deposed, and when the chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhary was dragged by the hairs on the constitutional avenue, is now saying that they would bring in the resolution to restore the judges if PPP and PML-N fail to do so.
Think About It: PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto went to Judges Colony in Islamabad and when she was barred from going to meet with the Justice Iftikhar at his home, she announced that her party would restore the CJP and she would hoist the flag of Pakistan on his house. Now the chairperson Zardari is willing to restore all the judges but Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhary.
There are always people who want to think the pinhead political panorama is somehow acting in concert. Instead, a variety of factors coalesce and converge to create that illusion. The biases of so many in political fray are similar, thus creating the illusion of acting in concert. Biases which most of them don”t understand and to which few own up, even to themselves, so that they influence these dull, plodding and recurring political mayhem without restraint of conscience. The result is an increasingly monolithic hum coming from our so cherished politicians and dictators, born of mediocrity, witless bias and timidity.
This lunatic fringe of paradoxical hypocrisy has taken over our democracy, constitutional and country and has hijacked our mandate. That is why still people still vote for the goons who have always broken the promises, or the idiots who have done ill in the past tenures. We elect and reelect the same thugs recurrently despite of their previous hypocritical track record, and above all that is why we always distribute sweets and arrange fireworks when a dictator comes rolling in with his black shadows and Triple One Brigade and screws the nation for a while.
