Yeah I agree with most of your points but I think his acts and statements at such initial stage are driving mode of our speculations where assumption would be a medium constantly fueling our point of views and mindsets till he takes the post in January. I think that world is already gripped in such a mess that U.S being the supreme world power can’t afford to escalate the situation. Instead it will try its best to take a different approach to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan particularly in Iraq which was subject of high level of criticism in bush administration.
Secondly I also think that current financial crisis has compounded problems for US so it would obviously become imperative to devote focus towards resolving that issue as it has hampered its internal economic system. So I think pressure to allocate more energies and funds towards that problem would demand different approach.
We won’t see totally refashioned policies with this new administration but considering blunders committed by Bush's administration it won’t follow a similar course and if that is the case drowning world could afford to rejoice with glimmer of hope even if that means being delusional till the bubble actually bursts

I think pinning too much hopes on Obama is like watchinga a mirage in the desert. let the time come, when you are near enough to see whether its water or sand again!!

This reference to him being Black and from opressed-of-the -past class fails as he, so far, hasnt announced any profoundly tought provoking policy for betterment of black minority or for war on terror and muslim image in general. It has been quite contrary actually. e.g his statement about OJ simpson and Pakistan.

Probe a little deeper and you will find more. Who is his chief of staff? an ex israeli soldier. He wants robert gates back as secy defense.. what change are we talking about here?!
do the math youselves...

We want change and hope, We want to progress in this world of misery and chaos but do we want to be dellusioned!
