NADRA Extorting Swat IDPs: Rs. 50 to issue NIC

While the world is coming forward to support internally displaced persons of Swat, there are certain elements that are trying to cash on this crisis, NADRA being one of them.

As reported here, NADRA is charging Rs. 50 from IDPs who have lost / misplaced their NICs. As having a computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) is a must to get registered in an IDP camp, the IDPs have no other option but to pay this ransom.

Following image shows receipt of NIC, issued by NADRA e-Sahulat Center to an IDP at Hathian camp. (Name and other sensitive information are concealed)
