Muttahida Muslim League: new King’s party
As current political regime is coming to its end, a race to form new King’s party has started. First contestant is Muttahida Muslim League (MML) whose formation was announced by former prime minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali at the residence Pir Pagaro, Chief of Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PML-F).
Mr. Jamali is of the view that two party system is ideal for Pakistan. There will be two parties, Muslim League and Peoples’ Party that should contest and rule the country. However, he was unable to factor in MQM and MMA. In his opinion:
- Prevailing situation of the country demanded reconciliation with political parties including Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
- Rejoining PML-Q as out of question.
- There is not any possibility of elections this year
- His move to form MML was not motivated by General Musharraf.
This move is made at a time when Judicial crisis is in full flow and news of disagreement in senior ranks of PML-Q are coming out.
Interestingly, Muttahida Muslim League is not something new. The idea was afloat after previous elections when various factions of Muslim Leagues were sought to amalgamate in one entity. However, at that time the dime-a-dozen leagues were consolidated into PML-Q.
Muttahida Muslim League shares ‘Muttahida” with MQM, the apparent, and MMA, the not-so apparent, ally of Musharraf. So, MML may be renamed to PML-M in due course.
If history is to repeat itself, we may see more breakups from PML-Q to MML.

the reasons for the formation of muslim league are very nice and precise but it should also be made in such a way that students of class 9th and 10th find it easy to understand as well as it becomes hhelpful to them in making their internal assesments related to the same topic.over all it is very nice.
thankyou.
