Syria is soaked with blood. The ongoing rampage has left hundreds, including women and children dead. Women are raped, properties are razed, and blocks upon blocks of residential areas are bombed to debris.
Unfortunately, there is no foreign power involved in this massacre and brutality. There are no invaders, no occupying forces. Its Syrians turned against fellow Syrians.
The Muslim world in general, and Arabs in particular, are still in their slumber. Most of the so-called leaders of Muslim Ummah are busy in lip service, with dummy organizations like the OIC conducting sessions that result in Garbage In Garbage Out.
Tyranny to Muslims is not new. Since after the end of Khilafat-e-Rashida (the Caliphate of the four truly guided Caliphs), Muslims fall into the hands of dynastic monarchies. Apart from few pockets of just rulers, most of our history is filled with tyrants of sorts. In the recent years, the Muslims World is ruled by tyrants in various forms. Some are wearing the cloaks of monarchy, some in the military uniform and some hiding behind Democracy – claiming Democracy is the best revenge.
Syria was no different. Under the rule of Ba’ath Party, Syrians are in constant suffering – first by Hafiz al-Assad, and now by his son Bashar al-Assad.
The governments of Iraq, Tunisia, Yemen, Libya and Egypt toppled one after another. Now Syria is in the line of fire. Arab Rulers are like sitting ducks, crouching in their cages, observing one former friend of the West eating dust after another. Today its Syria, tomorrow it can be Jordan, then Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, the UAE and eventually Saudi Arabia.
Regardless of what is game is going on in Syria, the real victims are innocent Muslims. These men killed, women raped, and children slaughtered, are our brothers and sisters in Islam. We are one body, one Ummah. Why, O Why, we are not feeling their pain? Why we are not crying for their sufferings? Why we are not up to take their revenge?
Narrated by Ibn ‘Umar, (The Prophet) said, “O Allah! Bless our Sham and our Yemen.” People said, “Our najd as well.” The Prophet again said, “O Allah! Bless our Sham and Yemen.” They said again, “Our najd as well.” On that the Prophet said, “There will appear earthquakes and afflictions, and from there will come out the side of the head of Satan.” Sahih Bukhari Volume 2, Book 17, Number 147
Muslims of Syria are calling you. If you can do nothing else, remember them in your prayers.

I am afraid we should not get involved in such a conflict there is nothing holy about it and that the opposition or the so called free Syria army is nothing but a gang of Wahabi Mercenaries backed by Qatar and the Saudis, whose only goal is to do a genocide of all non Wahabis be they Sunnis, Shia, Christian etc. As far as atrocities are concerned it is done by both sides be it the state or the rebels, no ones slate is clean in this regard. Assad on the other hand compared to the so Called Free Syria Army though Evil is the lesser of the two evils.
As Pakistanis on the Other Hand we should care first about our own country and consider setting it in order prior to looking around, you know what they say that ” Those who live in Glass houses should think before throwing stones at the houses of others” This very much applies in our case.
