Musharraf Struggles
PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, PML-Q MNAs Marvi Memon, Amir Muqam and Sheikh Waqas Akram have vowed to save President General (r) Pervez Musharraf if he is impeached in the national assembly.
While that political trickery happens, a battle is being fought on the side line and Musharraf is spending money like hell in the Sindh and Punjab assemblies. In Sindh, Musharraf has given the task to the MQM, his lawyes and the Makhdoom Amin Fahim to destabilize the Sindh government and to derail the coalition partners bid to impeach him. Governor Ishrat ul Ibad of MQM is ready to use article 112 of constitution to ask CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah to take the vote of confidence.
Musharraf is keen at throwing the PML-N government in Punjab and he would really want that. Salman Taseer the governor of Punjab is also keen to do exactly that. They are ready to target Shahbaz Sharif’s eligibility and have accumulated many material against him and its just a matter of time.
The Punjab assembly today adopted with an overwhelming majority a resolution asking the president to either obtain a vote of confidence or resign. The resolution called upon parliament to serve an impeachment notice if the president failed to accept the demand. The resolution was adopted with 321 legislators voting for it and only 25 lawmakers opposing it.
But Musharraf is still biding his hope with Salman.

This could be dangerous to the federation. However as the case is Pakistan’s politics its a super discreet and very well guarded subject. This is the reason why people cant help speculate and everyone has something new as ‘news” when the current affairs are discussed.
I was shocked to see how PML-Q MNA spoke in favour of Musharraf Sb in Capital Talk on Aug 13. I was also surprized to hear and couldn’t help thinking that why would Indian Security boss would commend General sb!!!
