Musharraf Still Active
I agree with major political analysts that the number one opposition leader right now is President General (r) Pervez Musharraf. I would dare to go one step further and would say that he is simultaneously playing the dual role of opposition leader as well as treasury leader.
And he is playing both the roles with superb dexterity, and both Asif Ali Zardari of PPP and Mian Nawaz Sharif of PML-N looks child in front of him. He has managed to cajole both of them, and with the help of United States he has got them on hook.
Asif Ali Zardari is more mellow for him and was a soft target. National Reconciliation Ordinance proved too much for the erstwhile Mr. Playboy and he was damned, and did everything he was told. Even the masters in Washington were shocked at the submission of PPP.
War on terror will go on, and the recent release of Pakistani Ambassador from Taliban is a grim reminder that nothing is changed and much more is to come.
