As the bipartisan delegation led by Congressman Gene Green (Democrat-Texas) includes Congressman Mike McCaul (Republican - Texas) and Congressman Henry Cuellar (Democrat-Texas), met with the President of Pakistan who was a general once and got himself elected within uniform, the operation in the Khyber Agency is appreciated by the visiting guests, and the general nods in sheer amusement.
While receiving the praise from the masters from the United States of A, Musharraf also comes around the corner and shares the credit with the Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani and has assured to US that had it not been for the due diligence of the PPP government, it would have been very hard to launch a crushing operation in the region.
In order to garner more support, Gillani has also put forward some asks to the members of congress. He says that the Congressional support for Pakistan’s counter-terrorism initiatives, such as the establishment of Reconstruction Opportunity Zones (ROZs), FATA Development Plan and FC capacity building.
Prime Minister Gillani also agrees with the sentiments and says that the Pakistan’s commitment to a closer and broad-based relationship with the United States cannot be stressed much, and the relations with both the countries are higher than anything. He says that he also looks forward towards his upcoming sojourn to the land of rich and bestowed.
Now that last line is what’s it’s all about. You know what I mean.
