Mirwaiz For Kashmir
Amidst the war on terror, judges issue and in getting rid of Pervez Musharraf we seem to have forgotten the issue of Kashmir, which is touted as the inseparable issue for us, and upon which many wars have been fought, and upon which the regional politics thrive, and conflicts arise.
When All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq landed in Pakistan heading a three-member delegation to Pakistan on the invitation of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, suddenly some limelight was thrown on the issue. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Abdul Ghani Bhat and Bilal Ghani Lone are not trying to push Pakistan to have a dialogue with India in the Kashmir.
Successive wars on this issue have shown that its not a solution, and the only lasting and peaceful solution can only come through an engaging and serious dialogue, and that must be done in the presence, engagement and acceptance of the Kashmiri representatives.
The reiteration of Kashmiri delegation is very justified and it becomes more plausible when they say that their stance that without involving Kashmiris of both sides in dialogue, the issue could not be resolved and no durable solution could be reached. Kashmir is not a territorial or border area issue. It involves lives of 13,000,000 Kashmiris.
