Making money from blogging is not at all illegal or immoral. Its what most of the bloggers are doing out there. Its what, more and more new comers are getting attracted towards it. That is why more and more ways are found by companies to offer revenue generation options for the bloggers. Its why free blog hosting and postings services are everywhere.

There are so many ways to earn money from blog, and new ones are coming out everyday. Some of the most talked about and authentic joints for bloggers to fill up their exchequer are Google AdSense, Chitika, Text Link Ads, Amazon Associates, BlogAds, and many affiliate programs. Another lucrative source is the Private Ad Deals. Bloggers across the planet are earning thousands of dollars from these programs and other programs like these.

But, here is a big red word of warning. Don’t think that by just placing Google Ads or Amazon ads on your blog, you will receive a hefty check at the end of the month. Ah, I wish it would be that simple. Its not that Google or Amazon is just so happy to pay you because you have done them a huge favour by setting up a blog and have put on their ads.

The earnings and rewards from these sites, are wholly dependent upon the traffic to your blog. Some of the programs first analyze your traffic, then allow you to have their ads displayed upon your blog.

So, traffic is the key to earning from the blogs, and how does the traffic comes. Traffic is the visitors and readers and commentors to your blog. They all only come, if they find anything useful at your site. So provide value to your readers, render them the things which are useful to your readers. Buildup an online community of readers. Establish your goodwill, and a smooth flow of traffic, and then start worrying about displaying ads and earnings.

If your traffic is so low, then optimizing your income sources is not the most productive use of your energy and time. You could spend hours fiddling around with Adsense colours, placement, sizes, etc, and even if you found the absolute best combination you might only take your income from Rs. 100 to Rs. 300. Spend the time increasing your traffic instead. If you could increase your traffic tenfold, and its not that hard if your persevere, you’d take your Adsense and other income from Rs. 10 to Rs. 10000. Once you’re at that level, optimising the ads would be a productive use of your time.
