Makhdoom Altaf Abbasi Advocate: Can somebody tell what was his fault?
Makhdoom Altaf Abbasi Advocate, also known as Haji Altaf, was an apolitical person and his main work was documentation. He was burned to death, along with several others, when his sixth-floor Tahir Plaza office was set ablaze on Wednesday, April 09, 2008.
Justice (retd) Rasheed A Razvi, president of the Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA), says about late Advocate Abbasi, “He had no role in the movement or struggle by the lawyers for the restoration of the superior judiciary, he was targeted only because he wears a black coat,”
Government of Pakistan failed again to ensure safety and security of its people. Nobody dare ask about apparent absence of law enforcement agencies, who previously proved too quick to beat the hell out of unarmed lawyers, when at least 10 armed hooligans wrecked rampage inside Tahir Plaza. Even after two days nothing has been done yet to trace and punish the savage brutes who killed Shaheed Altaf Abbasi Advocate and others. Meanwhile, hypocrites are busy in their game.
To conclude, here is an article by Javed Chaudhry:
