Lets Catch Our Own Moon Fellows!
It seems that like in the past, the race is on all over Pakistan to declare their own moon sighting for the Eid and once again enter the Guiness Book as a country which celebrates 3 Eids.
A simple layman like me when it comes to religion, one is left guessing the fact that we hardly let any chance pass by to prove that within this geographical space called Pakistan, we are different from each other. A simple aspect of human wisdom, called common sense makes me believe that its logical that the moon should be sighted on the territory where you reside, but I must say that the best religious logic can be provided by some one like Momina who are much familiar with the fact, so I will stop short of any final judgement.
Anyhow, keeping in mind what we all went through during and before Rah e Rast, it would have been a message of unity if this matter was sorted out in the best way possible, rather than a confusion which we have found ourselves in. The state has the authority and this thing also comes in the writ of the state. Like Sugar and flour, now we have moon dilemma also in the surroundings. If the moon sighting in some parts will be line with Saudia, is any other area available where we have followed them? I believe its our own identity that is so dear to us and it should be where we should be proud of.
Still as the topic was religion, my words are open to any amendment as I have already said.

Hamid has that part spot on. She is a knowledgeable sister masha Allah.
She doesn’t speak from her whims and desires but provides evidences from the Quran and sunnah. And that my friend is the ultimate differentiator between the glitter and the gold.

Dear brother Hamid, your words are very kind and sincere. May Allah SWT increase the positivities in us, ameen! I am still a learner and will always be.
Dear brother Faraz you are right and I hope people are aware of this fact.
The teensy bit of knowledge that I have is what I have learned in my study courses and from knowledgeable family and friends.
if it is available on the internet (even the corrupt knowledge that most people encourage is easily available) then why are there disagreements with the Words of Allah SWT.
Eid Mubarak to you and to all Muslims (who are true to the name)! May Allah SWT make everyday of your life as blessed as this holy day, ameen!
Hmm…one more thing, one should celebrate Eid the day it is celebrated by the country. Even if one is sure the crescent has been spotted one should go along with the country. I am saying this because I am aware that in Pakistan people from different areas celebrate Eid on different days (some follow the moon sighting of al Haramain and some follow the government). The intention may be to follow Islam correctly but unknowingly they are going against the Islamic teachings. The command of the ruler of the country should be followed for this, according to Islam.
If a country sights the crescent then that is the end of the month of Ramadaan for that country. If two countries sight it, they become like one country and the same rule applies and so on.

The exact science of astronomy, more than a thousand years old, can predict the appearance of the moon (as well as solar and lunar eclipses) many years in advance. The 1000-year old Egyptian Calendar (used by the Bohras of Karachi and India) is based on the predicted appearance of the moon over the Middle East. And every year (like today), the Bohras have their Eid on the same day as Saudi Arabia. Even though SUPARCO and the MET office say that the moon will not be visible throughout Pakistan, yet some people in the NWFP manage to see it. As for Saudi Arabia, its geographical location ensures that the moon will appear there before it does in Pakistan (sometimes one day, sometimes two days earlier). I believe that the moon controversy is all political. Just to prove science wrong, some men come forward and say they’ve seen the moon (even when it’s not there). These morons should have their eyesight checked, if not their heads.
