A leader can make or break his pack. I have listed down some of the qualities a leader should posses, It would be more interesting, if you add your pick,

Collaboration and communication
Properly orient his team to the related issues
Supports accountability within the team
Encourages recognition and acknowledgment of risks and errors
Encourages the internal reporting of what has been found and the actions taken
Measure, analyze, and manage variation in the performance of team players
Encourages Learning
Remains mindful of team’s needs
Leads from the front
