The News reports

Four out of five attackers escaped as the driver rammed the vehicle into the building of Police Rescue 15 after crossing the security blocks. The security personnel deployed at the ISI building and police installations resorted to aerial firing after the explosion panicked rescuers, area residents and commuters.

A tea-maker said terrorists came in a white van and opened fire on policemen deployed at the entrance. When the security officials put up resistance, the assailants hurled a grenade at them and the van driver rammed the vehicle into the building.

A technician of the Bomb Disposal Squad, Allah Yar, said a highly explosive substance without ball-bearings was used in the attack. He said the explosive material contained RDX, TNT and CR, which produced a huge fireball. He said they had also recovered two Russian hand-grenades, which were defused and handed over to the CIA SP.

Lahore Blast Ground Impact The explosion was so intense that it caused a 15-feet-deep and 17-feet- wide crater at the site and its sound was heard up to 15 kilometers away. The people left their houses as the explosion shook buildings within a 2 km radius of the blast. (Image: Jang)

While Taliban have allegedly accepted the responsibility of this blast, can we ask our government and its security agencies what they did to prevent such a disaster, especially after the attack on Sri Lanka Cricket Team and at Manawan Police training center?

Lahore Blast Intelligence Shared with Punjab Government

In the light of Ministry of Interior apparently sharing intelligence with Punjab government and its failure of acting upon it, can the Supreme Court take suo moto action on this criminal negligence? Heads on top should roll now before public run out of patience.

    It is another horrible incident in Pakistan. It seems that no body is safe. The fear that Taliban may spread out in the country in disguise has been proven true. This is entirely a failure of security, intelligence and government.

    It was Pakistan who had given recognition to Taliban in Afganistan. Its pakistan who supported Taliban in every field. Its pakistan who allowed taliban to rule its premises.Its pakistan who used taliban to fight against India .Now why there is so much hue and cry ?

    @Ayush: the Taliban (fomrerly mujahideen) were aided by the U.S. also to defeat India’s ally USSR in Afghanistan. India strongly supported the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, and although most countries decided to boycott the Moscow Olympics in 1980, India participated and won the hockey gold (since Pakistan did not play).

    Why can’t the government enhance security measures in all cities? I remember a time in Karachi when the rangers would thoroughly check all cars, even though it invonvenienced the people. But terrorism was contained to a great extent. Why don’t they barricade all sensitive buildings and installations (like the consulates in Karachi), why don’t they search all vehicles entering the major cities?

    @Hamid
    Accept the fact that pakistan made a mistake in supporting Taliban even after war was over(1989-2001).Pak thought that the existance of Taliban would help her to fight in Kashmir but now Pak is fighting for its existance.We Indians atleast have a global presence but a pakistani is in news just because of being suspected (or involved) in terrorist activities.
    @ Shakir
    That was an era of cold war and had a different political scenario.Can u reach any solution if we talk about 1980 olympics!! What matters is where Pak got wrong while making critical political decisions and now is being considered in lines of Iraq and Afganistan .Why after 60 yrs. India is a much better position than pak.why after being created on the basis of common relegion “Islam” is now facing hardships in democracy.
    I would like to end it by saying
    “Make an Indian and a pakistani to stand near to each other and then ask any person(american , european, aussie, african, chinese…) to tell which country both belong to, i bet they cant differentiate but now ask an Indian or a paki national to tell ,they will redily tell u the answer”.

    @ayush: Islam has never ever faced any hardships. yes muslims do afce hardships when they do not follow it properly.

    Second thing, in most cases it is very easy to tell if one is pakistani or indian…(hehehe), not to offend anyone, but in most cases it is discernible…

    and you mentioned the mumbai…welll i prefer bombay…so the bombay blasts? the suspect Kasab, have u heard…or you turn deaf to such news, that he had been in the prisons of India for teh past several years…
    a good scapegoat..
    when the indian newscaster called that incident the spetember 11 or india…that just proved that india wanted a september 11…
    try having original names for ur blasts….
    its like a child gets a toy he had seen with the leader of his friends’ group and goes “hey, my one is also just like Sam’s :D ”….

    @Ayush
    It was a mistake in your diary, not ours……….why dont you wake up the soul of Rajiv Gandhi and ask him what lead to his kiling by the hands of Tamil…….All depends on the situation of that time……….Taliban and Kashmir is a far cry……..And global projection of India………..The best I heard was the UN report stating that Indian troops were exchanging UN armour for Diamonds during the peace mission……….that was an achievement I must say

    @momina
    Where did you got that info!I thought ur investigation agency has all the facts(that mumbai attacks was a masterplan of few pakistanis ).I suggest u share that with ur media who has already shown footages and videos (geo TV).If u dont belive that u can also go to BBC for FACTS.Now dont say we have bought ur media or the western media is against Islam so against pakistan!!!
    @Hamid
    Thats the problem! When i talk about pakistan u point ur finger to somewhere else…
    Just for the fact India in the beginning of formation of LTTE (1970’s) supported the tamil movement because the srilankan govt. was not providing them their right but the day LTTE got involved in terrorist activities(1980’s) India took out her support. To show solidarity with Srilankans We send Indian Peace keeping force (1987).
    Your Taliban case is totally different. You are acting because U.S is asking u to do so otherwise u will not get “aid to fight terrorism”.There is a word for the people who fight for money…hope u will get that word in dictionary.
    @Lt Ayub Khan
    Hmmm…. Your Lt. is out here writing “posts”. May be thats the reason u r not able to keep taliban out of ur cities.hahaha…Ayub i assure u if there are others who have problem with me, i will surely not interfare in ur biased discussions!
