Kashmir is Free

Kashmir Singh, an Indian spy arrested in 1973 and sentenced to death by military court, was granted amnesty by President Pervez Musharraf on the appeal of federal caretaker Minister for Human Rights Ansar Burney. He was released from the Kot Lakhpat Central Jail on March 3rd, 2008.
There are reports that he has embraced Islam while in jail and was renamed as Ibrahim.
On March 4th Kashmir Singh was handed over to Indian authorities at the Wagah border amidst hyper media coverage.
While its a good gesture from Pakistan and Ansar Burney, who has earned loads of global media attention through the event, should get credit for tracing out and getting released an Indian spy. However, it will be better if the good minister for Human Rights can do some efforts for fellow Pakistanis rotting in prisons since years, for nothing. Also, is it possible that Mr. Burney can find out why kids of Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry are detained in their home and why they are unable to go to school since last 4 months.
According to a report, Mr Burney is now working to get Sarabjit Singh, another Indian spy, released from Kot Lakhpat Jail.
