Jinn
Forces of Darkeness - part 2
Jinn inhabit this earth as humans do and their population is estimated at 6 times of human population. Jinn are made up of fire and like humans, they are also either believer of Allah Almighty or non-believer so here by forces of darkness we mean only Non-believer Jinn.
It’s only due to the lack of study of the Holy Quran that some muslims question about existence of Jinn as Jinn are mentioned number of times in the Holy Quran.
The 72nd Surah of Holy Quran is titled as ‘Jinn’.
In the first verse of the Surah Jinn, Allah Almighty says to the Holy Prophet:
Say: It has been revealed to me that a company of Jinns listened (to the Qur’an). They said, ‘We have really heard a wonderful Recital!
‘It gives guidance to the Right, and we have believed therein: we shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our Lord.
There were also incidents when Jinn came to meet the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).’
The well-known scholar Khateeb has stated on the authority of Hadhrat Jabir bin Abdullah who stated: “Once, we were traveling with the Prophet (SAW). The Prophet was sitting under a tree for taking rest. All of a sudden, there came a snake near him, took his mouth near the hole of his ear. After sometime, the Prophet took his mouth near its ear and said something. On that, the snake vanished in such a way as if the earth had swallowed it. We submitted to the Prophet that we were very much frightened when you let it reach near your ear. The Prophet told that it was an animal and in fact, it was a jinn who had forgotten a few verses of such and such Surah and the jinns had sent it to enquire about the same verses. Because of your presence, he came changing its form to that of a snake and enquired about the verses accordingly.”
Jinn can change forms and they can also appear in human form. They eat, live in clusters and reproduce. It is said that a Jinn is more powerful than 70,000 humans while an Angel is 70,000 times powerful than a Jinn and a Sufi is 70,000 times powerful than an Angel.
There are many types of Jinn. Hazrat Faqir Noor Muhammad Sarwari Qadari (RA) in his famous book IRFAN gives details of the types of Jinn.
He narrated, “sometimes jinn, satans and evil spirits inhabit a house and frighten and harm the inmates in sleep and in waking. In the whole world there is not any city where this invisible spirit does not reside in any house or building. Such houses are called haunted houses. Some jinn are harmless and far from injuring and harming the inmates of the house but they protect them against other jinn and satans.
Some Jinn, satans and evil spirits possess human beings which upset their health and they fall a prey to incurable disease. But besides physical maladies the entrance of jinn and satans into the human body also adversely affects the morals and conviction. When some human heart or brain is affected by their hellish and impure effects he becomes mad and insane.”
He also informed in detail about jinns who live in mountains, graveyards and near to Butcher shops etc.
Hazrat Ali Usman Hajveri(RA) known as Data Sahib says Jinn dance naked where music is played resulting in feelings of passion. Bad things attract bad forces.
Since jinn can take form of humans, they can also harm by committing crimes like theft, robbery, rape etc. There are many crimes about which people talk that a human can not do an act like this. They are right in saying this. Muslims are protected by Allah who has appointed Angels to guard them but they leave the person if he is impure, in condition requiring Ghusal or away from Prayers.
One can protect himself from evil Jinn by keeping oneself pure and offering regular prayers. Women and small children should take special care as they are more vulnerable.

i seem to have a problem. things seem to be going bad for me. if i try something, i fail. when somebody else tries it, he succeeds. this has happened for a long time. Could it be possible, as one person said, that there is an evil jinn with me who follows me around and destroys my good luck, efforts, struggles, etc??? Please reply. Thanks.

Nuradine Mussa: Well, I guess there is no harm is reciting the dua regardless if they attack or not. Why take a chance within something so grave!
Someone once said “If you believe in God and God is not there, no problem. But, if you don’t believe in God and God is there, BIG problem”
