Jemima Khan meets Pervez Musharraf

Jemima Khan
Jemima Goldsmith, who still go around as a “Khan”, had one-to-one meeting with President Pervez Musharraf on Friday February 15th.

Jemima, here as an election observer, interviewed Musharraf for a British publication. During the interview she was “assured” by the President that all arrangements for a free and fair general elections in Pakistan have been made.

Interestingly, Jemima Khan, along with ex-husband Imran, did a “noisy” protest in front of 10 Downing Street while Musharraf was meeting British Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

Jemima Khan arrived in Islamabad via British Airways along with her two children on Monday February 11th. She was received by Imran Khan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman and former husband. Both avoided any talk with reporters and left the airport in separate vehicles.

Recently it was reported that Jemima Khan, 34, currently dating businessman Ben Elliot, has patched up with ex-boyfriend Hugh Grant, 47, and the pair is said to have looked at luxury apartments in upmarket areas of Paris.

Jemima was certainly on a mission. It isn’t a coincidence that she interviews Musharraf days before the polls, back in 2002 and now in 2008.

Is Jemima Goldsmith Khan not a biased observer? I think she is, but English newspapers send her out here to report on the political scene? I cannot understand why she agreed. Did she not leave her husband and Pakistan because she could not cope with the politically motivated attacks on her? Did she not say her young family suffered because of politics? Why ever has she purposely forced herself back onto the scene then?

This woman has a cross to bear and reading her write-ups on the subject, she can’t stop going on about her own personal vendettas and grievances against Bhutto, Musharraf and Sharif. Understandable, but four years on? I get the feeling she is not over the failure of her marriage, not even now.
