Is this love of Animals?
Is locking up rabbits, birds and other animals in cages and keeping aquariums for personal entertainment justified? Personally I feel it is inhuman but some Mullahs say that it is okay because they are protected from other animals and they get their food on time. I don’t know what to say about this ridiculous theory.
I have heard that these animals give ‘bud-dua’ but I do not know how far this is true. There is a story of a family getting a caged rabbit and terrible things started happening to the members of that family. It is possible it could have been due to something else but it may also have been due to the inhuman treatment of the rabbit. Let’s consider what’s inhuman here. The rabbit gets his food on time and it is protected from other animals but is the act of locking up an animal who has full right to his freedom not something that alone can be labelled as cruel and inhuman.
I think that aquariums are more common than anything else. Keep a lot of fishes in a tiny space and then become happy from seeing that kind of cruelty. Those fishes who should be out there in the oceans are now confined in a tiny space but this may also be justified with the same ridiculous theory.
