My view is that women should be treated like human beings and given the rights that Islam (not society) gives them. I don't know why you have a problem with that.

knew it. Since I have very recently left that age group and noticed a change in my attitude towards the world and everyone in general, I can relate to what ppl in this age group think and visualize about this world.

from my vast experience in dealing with all types of ppl, I also gather one more thing about you from ur blogs. but thats not something the rest of the world should know.

my advice is blog less because the more u blog the more u tell the world about your personal side.

Hazrat Ali : " when words are in your mouth, they are under your control and when they are out of your mouth, you are under their control."

Mr Lakhani, your own paragraph tells you that Islam is not practiced in Saudi Arabia.

The reason why Saudi Arabia forbids women to drive is because of the Hadith which says that a woman has to have a close male relative (like son, brother, father, uncle) with her wherever she goes. The Saudis are scared that once they allow a woman to drive, the women will drive to shopping malls without being accompanied by their husbands or brothers or sons. And, as our clerics say, once a woman has the freedom to venture out alone, there's no telling what she'll demand next. That is why they do not allow unaccompanied women to go to Haj or Umrah. And that bit about "Islam not being practiced in Saudi Arabia" proves that you're either out of touch with reality or you are deliberately avoiding questions which challenge your opinions.

what you have mentioned in "several places" is the opinion of scholars regarding verses. and scholars interpret verses widely. and they fight about it too. some want to stick to the Quran exactly as it is.l some say things mentioned in the Quran are interpretive. and these interpretive things are always causing problems.

any way that is not the issue here. music is unlawful due to hadees and that is sufficient evidence.

instead of asking rhetorical questions like is islam really practised in saudi arabia, why dont you try to come up with a decent argument to my question. 'do you know every single person in arabia?'

or are you one of those ppl who think that all saudis are non-muslims and only you yourself are the only true surviving muslim of the world? because every tom, dick and harry feels that way.

i read your other posts. it seems you are the angry impulsive type. this is common in 19-23 yr olds. i'm guessing you're either in that age group or you get paid to blog so you clump together and condemn everyone in your personal opinions without ever collecting sufficient statistical data.

there is also not a single ayah saying music is haram

- really? You need to read my post 'music' where i have mentioned music being forbidden in the Quran in several places.

there is also not a single ayah concerning rape.

- are you serious? what is rape? zina. Allah ta'ala clearly mentions in the Quran not to even go close to zina.

- as far as Saudi Arabia is concerned, are you telling me that Islam IS practised there?

"There is not a single ayah in the Quran nor a single hadith that say that cooking, cleaning, washing dishes, clothes and cleaning the house is a woman’s (mother, sister daughter) or a wife’s job."

there is also not a single ayah saying music is haram... there is also not a single ayah concerning rape.

should we just go on what each "single" ayahs say? or should we stop looking for single ayats and look at islam as a whole?

these "husbands" u talk abt are the illiterate masses of society.... n u make the grave error of generalisation...

clumping everybody together no matter who or what they are...

that's something not even Allah does..

p.s "Islam is not practised at all in Saudi Arabia." AT ALL? have u checked the whole of arabia? do u personally know every single person? stop making assumptions!

Thank you for asking. The answer is simple. Islam is not practised at all in Saudi Arabia. At just a little distance from the Holy Ka'bah you see people having fist fights and shopkeepers close their shops but sit inside waiting for salat to be over!
