IPL Rifts
After the rifts between Kolkata Knight Rider’s owner Shahrukh Khan and the skipper Sourav Ganguly, another round of bitter showdown has surfaced between Bangalore Royal Challengers skipper Rahul Dravid and the team’s owner, Vijay Mallya.
Rahul Dravid, according to insiders in the franchise as well as BCCI, was unhappy with the way the team management has dealt with the players. Dravid was also unhappy with the undue and interfering presence of Vijay Mallya in the dressing room and in the team meetings, and he was also very ill at ease at the unprofessional suggestions of Vijay in the game plans. Same were the accusations of Ganguly.
Financial scams in the Indian Premier League are also appearing and even the top management is not spared. As the is IPL is gripping the India in its blistering fever and people have just become dotty on it, the more money is pouring in. With high profile international signings and a billion-dollar deal with Sony, the IPL is rocking the country.
But now fingers are being pointed out the founder of IPL, Lalit Modi for the financial glitches. But of course Modi denies it and he says that IPL is the richest paying tournament to all players making more money playing 14 games over 6 to 8 weeks than they make in probably five years playing for their country.
