Into Pakistan Long March: Miasma Goes On

At one side, the tickers are flowing back to back on the channels that reconciliation is in the offing and the foreign powers are trying to strike truce between the PML(N) and PPP, and some are talking about the old formulas of making two chief justices and then some are talking about alienating the factions of long march, but on the other side the civilian dictatorship is on the onslaught and a new ugly chapter is being written in the Pakistani democracy.

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani held separate meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari to discuss country’s overall political situation and that has sparked the speculations and guesses about the much needed reconciliation, but that must not be by sacrificing the principles.

Naib Amir Jamat-i-Islami Prof. Ghafoor Ahmed has said despite all its powers the government will not be able to stop the flood of people and he is more than right. The government on Thursday could not stop the long march as lawyers and opposition activists kicked off their protest from Quetta and Karachi and government must remember that long marchers will reach Islamabad.

It is still not too late to change course for Zardari regime.

Come out for a peaceful Long March only for the cause of free judiciary in Pakistan. If we think that we can contribute in the restoration of free judiciary in Pakistan, then NOW is the time to come out and be a part of Long March. Its not just the restoration of Justice Iftekhar Chowdhury, its restoration of a system. We don’t need to be political its just to support lawyer’s movement for free judiciary.

Also don’t let any one damage any Government property since violence any kind is not in favor our beloved country Pakistan.
Lets make the 16th march Long March “The Final March” Long Live Pakistan.
