Information Minister Durrani
I like this man; Mohammad Ali Durrani, the Information minister of Pakistan. I am not really interested right now in discussing on which side he is and what he defends, but what I am really impressed about him is his approach and method of public and media dealing.
Pakistan has seen many Information Ministers, some timid and some very aggressive and some outright idiots, but this man is in his own superb class. He remains very calm and cool in the face of music, and he never let go of his solid stature. His defense his immaculate and he never raises his voice, yet he manages to convey his point in a very strong manner.
I haven’t seen him physically in any public meeting, but have seen him in lots of talk shows and discussion forums on the private media channels like GEO, ARY and AAJ. When he is present in such programs, the program gets very lively and interesting. He never stresses the point that he is from treasury benches, but his mode of discussion is very authentic, brief and valid.
He is one of those people, who convince the audience merely by their innocent smile. He has got a unique sense of controlling the wave of argument. He snatches the attention of the camera by his sheer power of control and calmness. He is one of those people, who have the ability to even prove their wrong stance, with their charisma.
After Shiekh Rashid, he is a fresh blow in the town. His educated, calculated and intelligent approach warms the feelings. His focussed approach towards the liberty of media is what will earn him a lasting respect in the near and far future.
