Idiotic Accountability
Whether it’s Saifur Rehman of Nawaz Sharif or the whole bunch of idiots in National Accountability Bureau (NAB), so far, the process of accountability has neither been able to combat corruption at the national level or at the grass root level, and neither it has succeeded in gaining the confidence of public.
The end result of this reeking imbroglio is the consistent and continuous damages in regard of billions of rupees from the pockets of taxpayers, and it has become a white elephant. When the likes of Asif Ali Zardari and Rehman Malik are getting away with their whooping plunders in the name of national reconciliation, then what’s the purpose of NAB or any such other institutions?
If the new government, which will perhaps be formulated this year, is really serious in implementing the change then it would have to seriously do some serious and quick work in this regard and until and unless the corruption gets attacked with full force, it’s very hard that we would come out of this rapidly aggravating economic crisis.
In order to implement transparency and a corruption free society in Pakistan, the new government has to free the judiciary and it has to introduce a really workable and checkable system of check and balance. The decision making related to ensuring the transparency must also be transparent and public agencies must be geared and equipped to deal with the corruption at all levels of the society.

Corruption can never be eliminated from any society. If there is an independent judiciary, perhaps it can be reduced. But as long as the people elect corrupt leaders, there will be no change.
