I want Pakistan of 1948
Cabinet meeting was underway. ADC came near Quaid-e-Azam and asked, “Sir, shall we serve coffee or tea”? Quaid-e-Azam became stunned, and said sternly, “These people haven’t come here after taking their tea or coffee from their homes”? ADC went bonkers. Quaid-e-Azam continued his talk and said,”Any minister who wants a coffee or tea, should go back to his home and take whatever he wants, the money of nation is for the nation and not at all for the ministers.” After this order, until he remained in rule, only drinking water was served in the cabinet meeting.
For the Governor General house, some items were purchased for Rs. 38. Quaid-e-Azam asked for the bill. Some things were purchased for Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah. Quaid-e-Azam ordered to deduct the price of those items from her account. Some items were for the personal use of him, and he ordered to deduct the price from his own account.
Brother of English King Duke of Gloucester was coming on Pakistan’s visit. English ambassador request Quaid-e-Azam to receive him on airport. Quaid-e-Azam laughed and said,”Ok, I am ready, but when my brother would go to England, the King of England would receive him, is that Ok?” On one fine morning, ADC put a visiting card in front of Quaid-e-Azam, who after a single glance at the card, became angry and tore it, and said to ADC to ask that person to not come again here. He was the brother of Quaid, and on the card he has embossed the same relationship.
Once Quaid-e-Azam was travelling and their vehicle encountered a close railway gate, driver asked the railway gate guard to open it up, who obliged promptly after seeing Quaid-e-Azam, Quaid-e-Azam became very angry, and ordered the gate to be closed at once , and said in anger that if I wouldn’t follow the rules and law, who would?
That was old, backward, and ancient Pakistan of 60 years ago. Now the world has changed and we have reached after progressing a lot to the point where our rulers cannot go up to 10 yards without 20 bullet-proof cars and an army of trained commandos. When our rulers travel, all the signals of their routes are closed all the traffic remains blocked.
What would you prefer, Pakistan of Quaid or the Pakistan of Musharraf/Benazir/Nawaz?

Oh, don’t you see it? We DO have the Pakistan of 1948… the only problem is, we are Jinnah’s brother, his driver, his ADC and the railway guards. We can’t all be like Jinnah now, can we?
