I am a Coward Fool
I confess publicly that I am a dumb, foolish and apathy-ridden human being. I am vaguely aware of my rights, and really don’t care much about them. I am foolish because I still feel pain. I am foolish because I still pine for the rule of law. I am foolish because I still dream. I am foolish because I still think that we are the still the same nation which snatched the freedom from British and Hindus. I am foolish because I still compare Pakistan with America and other open societies. I am foolish because every time a window of opportunity opens up, I naively think now the new dawn will emerge.
I am coward because I don’t ask for my rights. I am coward because I don’t fight for my rights. I am coward because I know that I am being subjugated, yet I don’t scream. I am coward because I know I need to breath in the democratic air with full freedom, yet I cannot. I am darn coward because I with my tongue claim the love for the Pakistan, yet I haven’t raised my voice to struggle for its democracy. I am coward, because I am controlled by the Washington DC, sometimes directly and sometimes by the ‘revered’ friends. I am coward because I just want to earn the living, and just want to bear the load-shedding, mismanagement, police-terrorism, corruption, suicide attacks, bomb blasts and threats by everywhere.
I am foolish and coward………..
