Home Remedies for Dandruff
Dandruff, also called scurf, is the common skin problem that people face daily. It is normal for skin cells to die and flake off, it is nothing but flakes, but when the flaking starts to become intensive there might be a problem that should be solved. There are two types of dandruffs: dry dandruffs, which make the skin itchy, and the oily dandruffs which makes the hair sticky and sometimes smells. The cause for dandruff can be dry weather, hair chemicals, nutrition and more. Dandruff is generally believed to be infectious that can spread by the use of common towels, combs, soaps and hairbrushes. Most cases of dandruff can be treated with specialized shampoos or common household remedies.
Home Remedies for Dandruff:
- Smear honey on the peeling area, massage gently, and leave for 45 minuets then wash. Repeat every day for 2 weeks or until dandruff is gone.
- Massage your hair with warm coconut oil and apply the juice of 2 lemons, steam your hair and leave the oil on for about 2 hours. Shampoo with a mild shampoo. Repeat 2-3 times a week.
- Mix 2 tablespoons of fresh apple juice to 2 tablespoons of warm water, apply on hair, rub, leave for 10 minutes and wash off. Repeat 2-3 times a week.
- Rub olive oil into scalp, leave for 5-10 hours and wash off.
- Crush 1 aspirin and put it in a regular shampoo bottle, mix well and wash hair.
- Pour apple cider vinegar on hair and massage well, leave for a few minutes until it’s dry and then wash. Repeat until peeling is gone.
- Cut an onion into big slices, Tie on the feet with a big cloth for half an hour.
- Aloe vera can also cure dandruff with aloe vera gel. About 10-15 minutes before you wash your hair, rub a lot of aloe vera gel into your scalp. Leave it on for 10 minutes, and shampoo your hair like you regularly do. If you do this everyday the dandruff will stay away.
- Use lime juice to wash hair.
- Soak 2 tablespoons fenugreek seeds in water overnight. In the morning grind into a fine paste. Apply all over scalp and leave for ½ an hour. Wash with mild shampoo.
- Boil a handful of neem leaves in 4 teacups of water. After cooling and filtering, use for rinsing hair.
