Holistic strategies
The lawyer’s movement was one event that made Musharraf inaugurate blunders one after another in order to distract general opinion. A fighting back move was never on his cards. What delayed this resignation was the detail work for a safe departure based on cross purposes amid Zardari House and Musharraf. The holistic strategies made by Musharraf failed to serve his ambitions.
Musharraf’s departure has also played a milestone in proving that once a military ruler leaves his military office he has no support left behind and it is then his days are numbered. It was this reason that Musharraf in spite of having powers to dissolve National Assembly could not use Article 58-2b as it would not have been implemented or enforced. In these circumstances this power assigned to the President of Pakistan proved to be of no use.
