Hobby Junkies
Human nature is weird and the most striking example of this is the human hobbies and passions. In your life, you must have met numerous people who have hobbies or passions which sound utterly ridiculous to you. Its highly likely that you might have a hobby or passion, which seems to bog down everybody else. A hobby you treasured for so many years, yet not a single soul ever took it seriously. A passion for which you have an unmatched longing, and yet people poke fun at it mercilessly and on one seems to appreciate it.
Its equally highly likely that you also find yourself often on the flip side of the things where you also deride others’ passions or hobbies. For example I am still unable to figure out how on earth people spend thousands of rupees on expensive mobile phones or why collect match boxes at all. I can’t understand why anyone would climb a mountain in his right mind or what sort of pleasure is achieved by a golfer when he hits a ball with his stick and does it all the time.
I often wonder why people frown when I talk enthusiastically about collecting stamps or watching every ball of five-day test match which result in a draw. I got frustrate when I fail to convince people that eating ice cream in winter actually helps.
Its all about unique human nature. Actually it shouldn’t be weird that what is dear to me repels you. If you really are passionate about a topic then that passion shines through.
Passion for Hobbies or anything for that matter, is good. Better than a no-passion dull life. Passion gets the heart going, excites, stimulates and makes life worthwhile.
